I still get funny looks when I tell people I’m the CEO of a commercial laundry company.
I can see the questions in their eyes: You were a Nuclear Submarine Officer? You were a C-level exec at a successful software company? Why are you washing table linens and uniforms in Dallas?
It’s a fair question. On paper, it looks like a strange pivot. But the answer isn’t about a mid-life crisis or a random investment.
The answer is about excellence, trust, and people.
When my partners and I decided to build a locally owned Tide Cleaners for DFW businesses, we didn’t just want to wash clothes. We wanted to solve a problem we saw in the market: a lack of reliability and a lack of heart.
Here is exactly why we chose this business, and more importantly, why that matters to you; the restaurant owner, the hotel manager, and the business leader in Dallas-Fort Worth.
In an industry often dominated by massive, faceless corporations, trust is the first casualty.
I didn’t want to build this company alone. I partnered with Portion Capital, led by men I am in awe of. These are leaders who don't just care about the bottom line; they care about the "Why."
We are overtly values-based. We believe that business is a chance to pour into people and change lives. If I am going to ask for your business, I want you to know exactly who is handling your linens. You aren't just a contract number to us. We are your neighbors in the Dallas Metroplex. We are investing our lives and savings here because we believe in this community.
My background is in high-stakes environments. I graduated from the Naval Academy and served as an officer on a nuclear submarine. Later, I spent a decade building a software company.
In those worlds, "good enough" doesn't exist. Systems have to work. Execution has to be flawless.
When I looked at the laundry industry, I saw a massive opportunity to apply that same level of rigor. Laundry isn’t complicated, but it is critical. If your restaurant doesn’t have clean napkins on Friday night, your customer experience suffers.
I chose this business because I love the challenge of speed of execution. We aren't just "doing laundry." We are building a machine that executes a simple playbook with excellence, every single time. We want to give DFW businesses a partner who operates with the precision of a tech company and the discipline of the Navy.
Finally, the biggest reason we are here is the people.
I’ve spent my career building cultures where people grow, from sailors on a submarine to young professionals in tech. I wanted to see if we could build that same kind of life-giving culture in a commercial laundry facility.
The answer has been a resounding yes.
Our mission at Tide Cleaners in DFW is simple: Take laundry, Give life.
We are creating jobs for people who are often ignored or taken advantage of in other sectors. We are giving them purpose, fair wages, and a culture where they are treated with dignity.
Why does this matter to you?
Because a motivated, respected employee cares about the work they do. When our team feels valued, they spot the stain that others might miss. They fold the towel a little neater. They ensure your delivery is on time.
Our goal is to deliver a level of service and care that sets a new standard for the Dallas-Fort Worth market.
We aren't just washing dirty laundry. We are building a company that creates value for our customers and opportunity for our employees.
If you are looking for a linen partner who operates with military precision, is led by trustworthy locals, and cares deeply about the people handling your goods, we’re ready to serve you.
Take laundry. Give life. That’s our promise.
